I'm a chilean Computer Engineer who loves software, writing it, and the tools that help to build it.
I work for Igalia, a once Galician, but now world-widely distributed company specialized in the development of innovative Free Software technologies solutions.
I studied in the Facultad de Ingeniería of Universidad de Talca, and also visited during one year the Fakultät Informatik, Technische Universität Dresden, thanks to a scholarship from the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst.
I wrote mafw-lastfm, a Last.fm scrobbler for Maemo devices like the Nokia N900.
I contribute to the development of the Eye of GNOME, the Image Viewer for the GNOME Desktop. Since 2010, I co-maintain it together with Felix Riemann, German hacking hero.
Every now and then, I update a bit gyrus, a small application to help IMAP server administrators to make their lifes a little less script-dependent. This project served as my introduction to Free Software and even the GNOME community and is now in janitoring mode only, but contributors would always be welcome if someone wants to push it forward.
From 2005 or so, I contribute to the development of the GNOME desktop, with patches here and there. I'm a GNOME Foundation member.
Love photography, music, movies, and writing. My boring diary is here.
I am in Flickr, last.fm, LibraryThing, Ohloh, and LinkedIn. I used to be also in CIA.vc and Advogato, but I'm not sure it matters anymore.
