Stuff Michael Meeks is doing

This is my (in)activity log. You might like to visit my employer
Novell which is an amazing company, and also
Dell who in days of yore provided me with a
free laptop for Gnome development / conferences.
Also if you have the time to read this sort of stuff you could enlighten
yourself by going to Unraveling Wittgenstein's net or if
you are feeling objectionable perhaps here.

- Up early; more OO.o fighting, exactly
the same problem - quitting without an error code,
not dumping any useful diagnostic information
whatsoever. Martin tried to help, but hard to debug,
with only the slim language related handle to the
underlying issues.
- Gdb of course crashes with some thread
related nonsense when you try to break in _exit, so
the whole thing's hopeless. Re-built 'framework' with
debugging on, now we get debug churn - better. Looks
like it can't find some configuration but ...
- Pinned down the evilness to
share/config/registry/(instance|cache) by binary
chop; but that could be just changing the path; hmm.
- Hunted at length all day; no joy, worse
it started working for reasons unknown towards the
end of the day; incredible.
- Knocked off; J's meeting went well, sat
by the fire, sipped wine, relaxed. Poked a tad while
J' made a delicious Lasagne. Read parts of the new
Economist, bed late.
In case it's not painfully obvious: the reflections reflected here are my
own; mine, all mine ! and don't reflect the views of Novell, The
Lithuanian Gov't or Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's also important to
realise that I'm not in on the Swedish Conspiracy.
Occasionally people ask for formal photos for conferences,
bio.
or fun.
