Stuff Michael Meeks is doing

Up late, poked at mail, trawled through the mail progress of Kjartan sorting out a ton of old/stale/fixed ORBit2 bug reports. Chewed couple of days of mail. Call with Noel.
Setup various conf calls, talked with JP.
Stefan Bergmann pointed me at his (apparently) canonical lets fix rtl:: String classes mail. In the 3 years since then, we seem to have made little progress at making rtl::OUString as useable as the tools string classes, so far we have 3 new methods:

        char const * asciiStr, sal_Int32 asciiStrLength) const
```
Clearly we need to move a little faster to make the rtl String classes more useful if we mean to deprecate the tools equivalent.
