both pragmaticaly and functionally

use it for what it's good at
not for small widgets
in-process components avoid
re-entrancy
life-cycle issues

need better gtk+ / glib cross-polination

don't get carried away with technology for it's own sake

don't abandon advanced technology because you have to think before using it
