Go forward in time to October 2010.
I recently got involved in the Peer-to-peer Urbanism project (blog). Think of "open source architecture/urbanism" and you'll know what this is about: sharing knowledge of construction, architecture, and urbanism, so that everyone can fix the physical space in which we live.
We are looking for someone who can implement simple things on top of OpenStreetMap. Think of annotating a crowdsourced map with markers for P2P-Urbanist projects.
P2P Urbanism was started by Nikos Salingaros, who is pretty much Christopher Alexander's sous-chef. If you want to work with world-class urbanists and architects while making OpenStreetMap better, please mail me!
