Unbundled Gnome 2.0 on Solaris 8 Gnome installs as if its a bundled product. Patches are applied to a defined set of bundled and unbundled packages so that they appear in GNOME's menus.
Solaris 9 upgrade of Unbundled Gnome 2.0 on Solaris 8 Previous patches are blown away, although GNOME, the .desktops and icons will still be around. Dtlogin config will have to be updated as the upgrade will prolly blow it away (according to JohnF).

Unbundled Gnome 2.0 on Solaris X with Gnome 2.0 already installed I guess the upgrade should inform the user they are doing something potentially stupid. But if the upgrade notices a broken Dtlogin config, perhaps it could offer just to fix it?
