This is my (in)activity log. You might like to visit
Productivity a subsidiary of Collabora focusing on LibreOffice support and
services for whom I work.
Also if you have the time to read this sort of stuff you could enlighten
yourself by going to Unraveling Wittgenstein's net or if
you are feeling objectionable perhaps here. Failing that, there are all manner of interesting things to read on
the LibreOffice Planet news
Stuff Michael Meeks is doing
House tidying, NCC, Simon, Sarah & Leslie back for
lunch. Slugged vigorously in the afternoon.
Slept badly, up lateish; had an "under-played-with
toys day", piled them up, ranked what to play with by popular
assent. Science and electronics kits suitably played with,
made a picnic lunch to eat on the heath, practiced quadracoptor
Home; Lynn, Katie & Esther over
lovely to see them; replaced the surge capacitor on my Henry
Hoover, which had kindly blown up - GBP 3 on e-bay, vs. GBP 18
as a 'genuine' spare; hmm. Removed lots of dead wasps from the
Fed spaghetti to the babes, J. returned, read stories
& put people to bed. Lovely to see them all.
Run in the morning with J. out to 'Kwik' Fit - to have
tires replaced in the nick of time. Back, mail chew, J. off to
visit Louise. Worked away, some font rendering analysis, and
a couple of customer calls. Fried eggs for babes dinner, read
stories, put them to bed; worked until late.
Mail chew, customer call, beat back more mail and
various tasks for a while, spent a while analyzing callgrind
traces for GSOC, parallelizing our ODF XML parser, interesting.
Awake very early; mail chew, contract work; worked in
the car on the way home with J. driving; Webinar on return.
Signed TDF contracts & LibOCon sponsorship bits. More
paperwork. Handled a late-night support ticket.
More contract work, sales call, several customer calls,
built ESC stats, poked at weird optimization behavior.
Team call, drove to Aldeburgh to see B&A, chewed lots
of E-mail, did some modelling, some contract pieces.
Ran kids work with J. downstairs - rather sleepily.
Back for a pizza lunch, with Leanne, slept some of the
afternoon, watched silly movie with the babes; bed early.
Off to fetch a Minibus from Mildenhall early; packed people
and lots of food into the bus, set off to Holkham beach - practiced
songs & wrote some talky bits with James & Kate in the bus.
Arrived, lugged luggage, great to see many from the church there;
had a fine lunch, baptism (with Paul too), and enjoyed some swimming
and slugging on the sand. Home together.
Spent some time with J&K, before taking them home, and
H. to A&E - a sand scratched eye; seen & back around 3:30am;
Up early, chat with Eloy, Tor, ownCloud Webinar practice with Lenny,
Snezana & Cornelius.
Friends and family arrived in the evening for N's
baptism tomorrow; lovely.
J's birthday - presents at breakfast; dug through the
mountainous admin-queue, synched with Andras & Kendy.
Calls variously through the day; chased this & that,
admin left & right.
A lamentable lack of blog authoring recently; just overwhelmed
with a huge quantity of admin and sales work. Anyhow - good news - we've
changed how CODE
is distributed and updated to make it great for home use - and also
announced an exciting partnership with Nextcloud -
it is good to work with old friends on both sides of this situation. Thanks
to Andras Timar for some extraordinary work here, with help from Lukas Reschke,
Off to Aldeburgh, worked in the car on partner agreement
pieces. Great to see B&A had a lovely relaxing
time on the beach with them. Home late. More admin bits.
Mail chew; back to back interviews; partner and customer
calls and admin.
Mail chew; worked through the day on OpenCL validation
before use. Cleared some of the admin backlog in the afternoon,
up rather late unwind SEH hiding the crashes we want to detect
to disable mis-behaving drivers.
Mail chew, team calls - slogged at OpenCL pieces left &
right with help from Quikee and Kendy; up rather late.
Breakfast; 9 girls & myself - fun; out to West Row
for church; interesting. Back for lunch, slept on the sofa for
much of the afternoon, and read stories.
H. and Elize's birthday party at High Lodge / Forest
Centre - lugged lots of picnic bits out there; very British
weather - rained warmly & vigorously over us, the picnic
etc. initially. Back, party tea, Jacky Chan family movie, put
babes to bed - plugged away at some LibreOffice code. Julie
over to stay.
Mail chew; OpenCL / code reading, sync. with Tomaz and
Marco. Watched Yes Minister with M. H. and N. in the evening,
back to work late. Interested to see the Mozilla
Graphics Telemetry data.
Customer call, finished ESC bug stats; mail chew, poked
at some code, bugs, lunch; ESC call.
Customer meeting much of the day; enjoyed a beer with
partners afterwards; lots of interesting engineering around
the place to see etc. plane back in the afternoon.
Customer call; pleased by Collabora Online working
despite a rather poor on-train net connection.
Travel - trains, planes etc. Pleased to meet a Microsoft
Research chap on the train; working with Xamarin Studio, and
running LibreOffice on his laptop. Poked at performance tests,
re-factored and re-worked a couple of them. Chat with Kohei,
late customer call.
Mail chew; team meetings; poked at calc pieces a little,
chat with Markus. Mary Rogers over for dinner, and PCC AGM in the
evening, late customer call.
NCC - H. playing in the youth band - did well; quickly
on to N's leaving service at school. Home - tidied up the
workshop with J. Splinted broken bed-board.
Keith Cooper over for the night - good to catch up
Lazy day; lots of slugging - good to relax.
Mail chew; out for a run with J.; more mail and analysis.
